Seeking a New NJLA Blogmaster

Are you interested in Library 2.0 and all that goes with it? NJLA is looking for a volunteer to administer the NJLA blog. The blogmaster is responsible for managing the everyday running of the blog and for coordinating and running the blog at conferences and other events.

While the blog usually needs little attention, there is a time commitment during the NJLA Conference, when the blogmaster acts as a liaison for a number of guest bloggers reporting on various conference events.

If you would like more information on this position, please contact Maureen Wynkoop, co-chair of the Publications Subcommittee, at maureen@camden.lib.nj.us.

Other Library Association Blogs

By launching its official blog, NJLA is hopping on a very active and interesting bandwagon. Amanda Etches-Johnson, academic librarian and monitor extraordinaire of the biblioblogosphere, has launched a Blogging Libraries Wiki (don't know what a wiki is? No worries -- here's a handy definition), including a section on other library associations with blogs. I just added this blog to the list. Check it out to see what other library associations are doing!

NJLA Blog Commenting Guidelines

The NJLA Blog, along with disseminating information, should also provide a communicative and collaborative environment for its readers that, at the same time, protects every reader's freedom of speech. For this reason, each post will include a comment feature to allow readers to comment on what they read.

Acceptable comments include:

* Positive or negative feedback on the content of a specific post (and not a specific individual, implied or otherwise).
* Links and comments related to the content of the post.

Comments that justify deletion without discussion include:

* Commentary that is in no way related to the specific post
* Commentary that may constitute libel and slander
* Advertisements and spam

Comments that do not fit neatly into either of these categories are subject to review by the Managing Editor and Blog Managers.

Unless otherwise stated, all comments are assumed to be the personal opinion of the individual author.
